Keeping Up with the Belks

Every morning I come to my computer, Coke or Flavia in hand, and I scan the blogosphere and city tabloids to make sure I can bring you the most up to date and interesting information about our Queen City. Keeping Up With The Belks strives to be a place where Charlottans can read about our city, its people and its quirks, through my silly and admittedly biased slant. But while I merely try to do that, others have succeeded amazingly.

One blog that did it better than any other I’ve seen was Pittgirl’s “the burgh blog“. It was my window into my hometown, the way I hope someday KUWTB could be for people missing Chatown. I started this blog in June and only started reading Pittgirl’s blog two months ago, but it only took a week for me to start checking it daily. If you click that link, you will see what I was sad to discover this morning: the site is gone. It also appears that blogs footprints have been removed because my cached searches have turned up a lot of error pages. I wish this was a prank. I kind of feel like my favorite tv show was cancelled without a series finale.

Sigh. No more Yuptown. No more Burgh Blog.
