For dinner tonight my friend, Aims, and I decided to try J Pasta’s in the University area. Whoa, have I been missing out. The food is fan.f-ing.tastic. It’s like glitter in your mouth. Garlic-y, I-talian glitter.
J Pasta’s is Ucities very own NY style pizza joint. We went in and the owner immediately called us out as newbies. Yous never been here before. I know all my customers.
Aims got stuffed shells and I got talked into getting some pepperoni rolls (6 for $1.75) even though I wasn’t that hungry. We were both drolling over the garlic bread so he demanded that the boys wrap some up for us. Then he insisted we each try a slice of the pizza so that we would never order from anywhere else. We won’t: best pie I’ve ever had in Crown Town. A group of two older New Yorkers, who looked like they walked straight off the set of the Sopranas, were sitting at the restaurant’s only table. They invited us to join them and taught us the proper way to fold a slice. They also went on and on about Brooklyn Candy shops, the proper way to make Egg creams (which actually aren’t made with egg at all, and according to wikipedia are made with chocolate syrup, seltzer, and whole milk) and I swear to you, and I’m not kidding, one of them actually said “Fuggetaboutit”.

I can’t wait to go back with an empty stomach. They also do delivery in the area which is essential for all you UNCC students. Check it out!
