Keeping Up with the Belks: lesson #3

May 13

How to dick slap Lady Justice in the face.

Even though you may have been told to resign from your position on a corporate board due to conflict of interest rules, fuck it. Don’t listen to all those haters who are just jealous and trying to bring you down. You’re a Belk. You’re not going to resign. In fact, you’re going to be reelected.

Willful misconduct notwithstanding, some things are just more important in life than being bound to a code of ethics and the rule of law. Things like your health, and stock options, and getting what you want.

So keep doing what your doing, Judge Belk. As long as you’re on the bench you are leading by example. Showing us common Charlottans how to properly piss on the legal system, stand up to pesky female superiors, and create controversy.

Because even if you don’t have a firm grasp of the definitions of should and shall, you do have complete mastery of the two words that will undoubtedly continue to save your hide: I’m rich.

You know what? He may be rich, but he is a dumbass and he is incapable of caring about other people. Belk or not, you’ve still gotta get into the Pearly Gates. He might want to begin thinking along those lines. Money ain’t everything…even in a show-town like Charlotte.

How do you get to be on Corporate Boards? I could definitely make a career out of not having to actually do anything if I was on 4 or 5 boards…
