Uniform of Life

Navy Sweatpants+charity t-shirt=happiness. This is my uniform of life that I developed in high school. Back then it was Kennywood sweatpants and a 1988 Great Race t-shirt (unfortunately neither survived my extended stay at UNCC). Whenever I’m wearing my UoL, I’m comfy, happy and probably tap tap tapping on my laptop.

Today is Sunday, and it’s the Navy on bottom and American Heart Association on top. Enjoy the following awesomeness from Charlotte’s Web:

Fail: Uptown Magazine

Uptown magazine has named Uptown’s 7 sexiest. 7 sexiest? Are we going for the alliteration here? Then why not 6? But really, why not 10- why not 15 or 20? I know the QC has a lot of sexy people to offer who are known around town. A lot more and a lot sexier than the 7 they picked.

The list is all well and good, but come on – we can do better than that. Brotha Fred, but not CJ? And no Morgan Fogerty? She is lesbian crush material. And where are the sexy athletes – none of the Panthers or Bobcats were good enough? No drivers that they could think of? I can think of several from each. I can think about them all afternoon actually, mmmm…………..

Ok, back. The mag does score some points because Chris Lanston is their make-up artist and he is fan-fing-tastic. In fact, put him on the list.

AM Mayhem

Oh, sweet obsession. There isn’t a bad thing I can say about this show or this station for that matter. It is actually (sadly?) one of my favorite things about living in Charlotte. BrothaFred, David L, Jacinda. I’m not sure which one is my favorite but they make me laugh. My weekend starts off on a bad foot if I don’t get to hear “BroFro I wanna know” Friday morning. What could be better than listening to the unfaithful of Charlotte cuss each other out? Who doesn’t like hearing someone’s heart getting broken live, on-air, for their own selfish pleasure? And while, there is something oddly hot about BrothaFred, I can’t bring myself to watch “fox news edge”. Maybe if they dropped “fox news” from the title. The only thing worth tuning into fox for is that crazy weather guy. But I digress. I still love BrothaFred’s boyishly stubbourn personality and the way he pretends he is poor and drives a pinto (when he actually shops at Nordstrom every other day). Even the commercials are great because CJ does them, and CJ has probably the sexiest voice I’ve ever heard – and while I’m still not sure based on The Beat’s website photos if he is ugly or not (as all in radio inevitably are) – he is still on the short list of minor Charlotte celebrities I have a crush on. 96.1, I salute you!
