This weekend I went to three places I’ve never been before.

Friday night was dinner at Chima – uptown’s newish Brazilian Steakhouse. Two words: meat orgasm. The service is first class, as is the food. The salad bar contains every yummy thing you might want (high marks for the fresh veggies–especially the asparagus, tabouli, smoked salmon, and cheeses). Of course, the highlight of the meal was the unending parade of succulent meats brought to our table. The top sirloin, parmesan encrusted pork, and swordfish were all perfection. The leg of lamb, filet mignon and flank steak were also particularly tasty. Dinner is $40 a person. But one a la carte steak at Capital Grille, Ruth’s Chris, and Morton’s will cost you the same. Definitely worth the cost per plate (plus any extra expenses you incur from having to purchase a bigger pair of pants afterwards).

Saturday night was Ari Hest at The Evening Muse. The Muse is small but has a great vibe. The staff is awesome and there’s a nice variety at the bar. Even though I’m typically against standing for more than 10 minutes at a time, Ari’s sexy voice and my sexy company made me forget my 4 inch heals. HINT: come early if you want a bar stool. If you hope to use the bathroom, go across the street.

Sunday was a tweetup at Amelie’s bakery in NoDa. Two words: treat orgasm. Awesome tarts and the space is charming and inviting. Definitely a place where I could write, but also a very cool place to chat. Especially with the company I keep.

Enjoy!
