hellooooooo. Okay, breaking fast time. Does Coke count? If I was fasting during the Lenten season, would this be a break? It counts for the caffeine at least.

I’m super excited about BF today:

First via Gabby’s recommendation, come’s this little diddy from Creative Loafing about Bev Perdue’s screw-Charlotte campaign.

Everyone is talking about CMS teachers getting suspended and possibly terminated because of their facebook profiles. I kind of have to side with CMS on this (for once). My employer has it’s own network on fbook and I’ve seen lawyers reprimanded for the info on their profiles. Not only are you an ambassador for your employer, but you’re also, in the case of teachers, a role model to kids. Kids who are completely connected, wired, and figured out that it’s fun to google peoples names when they were three. You chose your profession, you chose your employer. Facebook has the option to make your profile private. It’s called responsibility. And professionalism. And deal with it.

Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz got a technical foul in the game against Pfeiffer. Luuuuutz. Why wasn’t he and his stache that badass when I was there? [cltblog]

and one more thing about University of Charlotte:

to day, 4010 FSLs have been sold. Awesome.

I may be a self proclaimed democrat. I may cringe at people roiling over election issues like sex education and family values when the economy is on the brink of disaster and our country is at war. I think we all have tendency sometimes to be caught up on less pressing issue when there are greater things at stake. But I am strong enough to admit that that kind of thinking is not always valid. Maybe there are bigger things to worry about, issues that should take the forefront. But that doesn’t make other policies any less important. Especially if they press on your heart. When the votes are counted, the majority wins, and the government (hopefully) acts on their behalf. But when you vote, you vote for only yourself and the kind of state and country you want to live in. With friends and boyfriends, there are always dealbreaker, despite how great they are. With candidates it is no different. That means that even if you think one canidate is better qualified, or you agree with the majority of their platform, but there is something, one thing, that you cannot in good conscience vote yes for – you can and should write them off.

That is why, despite being a liberal, I am going to vote for Pat McCrory for Governor in November. Check out Bev Perdue’s deal breaker below.
